You can try to deny it, but deep down you know it’s true; Hello Kitty is a world-wide phenomenon. The cute cartoon kitty cat has come a long way over the years and the market for HK products has grown enormously.

I was initially going to show you a HK 5mp camera, but then I found this! Talk about a blinged-up laptop! I can imagine this to be similar to Marmite – hundreds will be ‘oohing’ and ‘ahhing’ at this sparkly delight, and I’m sure many others will be disgusted. NEC in conjunction with the Sanrio Company developed the Lavie G Hello Kitty laptop. It’s encrusted with 299 (what’s wrong with 300??) Swarovski crystals, shaping four hearts and Kitty’s head. Kitty wears a pink bow and a crown. The laptop comes with Windows Vista, a 100GB hard drive and 1GB memory. It also comes in black and can be purchased from NEC Direct. But it’s a non-English website, so maybe use a webpage translator!

Talk about ending the feature with a bang! This is the biggest gadget of them all – the Hello Kitty Robot. Kitty can chat with you as a close friend (I’m guessing that’s along the line of secrets or something) or with the family. You can also have a guessing game with kitty. She can remember your face and will call you by name. She also has a CCD camera that enables her to calculate distance. Kitty has a sensor microphone with voice recognition, an ultrasonic sensor and a lift up sensor. LED features include power-on, face recognition, whiskers and ribbon LED. Her head and arms both move and she measures 15½ x 21 x 13½ inches.
